Brinton Vision – Lasik St. Louis

LASIK Eye Surgery Financing

How Much Does LASIK Cost in St. Louis?

Let’s face it, we live in a bargain-based world. There is a Groupon or coupon for almost everything we need, from clothing to restaurants. There are even “discounts” for LASIK that can be found with a simple Google search. It’s only natural, then, for many people to want to Google “cost of LASIK” or “cheapest LASIK” when looking for the best LASIK surgeon.

Laser eye surgery is a medical procedure performed by trained medical doctors. Just as with heart surgery, dermatology, or any other care you seek for your health, cost should not be the primary factor. Experience, reputation, technology, and time your surgeon will spend with you both before and after surgery are all factors to prioritize — above cost.

At Brinton Vision, Dr. Jason Brinton has invested in the education, training, and technology to ensure that you get the most effective laser vision correction tailored to your unique eyes. He is Harvard-educated, internationally renowned, and the only full-time refractive surgeon in St. Louis. We are the only laser vision correction center in the State of Missouri to invest in five state-of-the-art lasers and seven highly advanced diagnostic technologies under one roof. We believe that education must be paired with innovation in order to provide the best care possible for our patients.

Does Insurance Cover LASIK and Other Procedures?

There is a misconception that some laser vision centers “accept” insurance and others don’t. We wish we had an option to work with insurance companies, but LASIK is considered by insurance companies to be elective — even though we know laser eye surgery is life-changing for our patients, and sometimes even necessary for improvement of their quality of life. Insurance companies do not cover LASIK or any of the other vision correction procedures we do.

Affordable LASIK Options

We understand that patients need to be able to afford better vision. We take all standard forms of payment (cash, check, credit card, etc.). We are able to work with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Medical Savings Accounts (MSAs), and we also work with multiple financing companies to provide monthly payment options to fit most budgets. In addition, most laser vision correction procedures are tax-deductible.

Monthly payment plan options:

  • Zero Down Payment & No Interest for 24 Months
  • Zero Down Payment & Low Monthly Payments with Fixed Interest Rate for 60 months

Insurance companies consider LASIK and other vision correction procedures to be elective, and they do not cover the cost.

When determining whether LASIK or any other vision correction surgery is best for you, quality care and visual outcomes should be your top priority. At Brinton Vision, we are committed to providing you with an excellent, personalized and safe patient experience. We believe there is no “one size fits all” treatment plan when it comes to correcting vision. Brinton Vision offers not one, but all seven types of vision correction procedures. This allows us to provide a custom plan and personalized care to each guest who walks through our door.

Medical Savings Accounts Can Help Pay for Procedures

Many employers sponsor Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts (FSA or HSA). Vision Correction procedures such as LASIK are approved under most of these plans. Patients participating in either FSA or HSA plans through their workplace can set-aside tax-free money for a Vision Correction Procedure. You can put up to $2500 annually into an FSA. Check with your employer about your FSA open enrollment period.

Tax Deduction

The IRS has determined that Vision Correction Surgery is a tax-deductible medical expense. This ruling may give you an additional income tax deduction if you have a procedure performed.

At Brinton Vision, our fees are all-inclusive, transparent, and affordable. Dr. Brinton and our exceptional staff are equipped with the experience and technology necessary to produce excellent outcomes for each patient.

Looking into Cost

Most insurance companies do not cover the costs associated with vision correction procedures, such as LASIK, as they are considered elective. The cost of laser eye surgery can vary greatly among the multiple providers in the marketplace. Prices advertised by these providers may or may not include usage of new technology, post-operative care, and patient satisfaction guarantees. The differences can be confusing. Brinton Vision encourages you to research your options and decide for yourself if customized vision correction is right for you. How Much Does LASIK Cost at Brinton Vision?

There is no single answer for how much a LASIK or LASIK alternative procedure will cost. Each case is unique. There are seven different procedures that range in cost from $2,200 to $8,200 per eye. Some procedures only need to be done in one eye, and some patients have special considerations that require additional expenses. As a reminder, when you choose a LASIK surgeon, you are not only paying for the moment the laser is pointed at your eye; you are paying for thorough diagnosis, experience and reputation of the physician, safe and modern technology, and time your surgeon will spend with you determining which of the many available laser vision corrections out there will be the best solution for your eyes.
