  1. Missouri Botanical Garden. For 158 years, long before St. Louis became one of the Midwest’s most beloved cultural arts centers, Missouri Botanical Garden was one of the most revered spots in the city. Started by Henry Shaw, whose house still stands in the adjacent Tower Grove Park, the gardens are home to 79 acres of blossoms, blooms, and breathtaking beauty. Whether you stroll the 14-acre Japanese garden or check out one of the world’s largest collections of rare and endangered orchids, the gardens are a perfect place to take in the season’s warm breezes and sunshine.
  2. St. Louis Earth Day Festival. April 27 and 28, celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this fantastic festival! Located in Forest Park at the Muny grounds, you’ll find free yoga and rock climbing, great live music, and delicious food, as well as cool displays on the future of alternate-fueled vehicles. Meet the people and organizations making an effort to ensure that the world we enjoy today is still around for our children and grandchildren.   3. Take Me Out to the Ball Game. The St. Louis Cardinals have been our favorite summertime hometown team since 1882. They’ve won 11 World Series titles and earned 23 league pennants. Cheer them on this spring! Opening day is April 7, and it’s bound to be a home run!
  4. Gateway Arch. Our most famous monument is even more spectacular in spring! With newly renovated grounds and the best view around, you can make it a day at this historic national park. Tour the museum and find out the story behind the Gateway to the West. While you’re on the shore of the Mighty Mississippi, take a paddleboat river tour to experience the waters the way our city’s forefathers did!
  5. Six Flags. Whether you love the rush of a roller coaster or putt puttering of antique cars, it’s always a thrill to let loose at the area’s largest theme park! Thrill rides, kids’ rides, waterpark fun, and shows are all in store at Six Flags!
  6. St. Louis Zoo. It’s been voted the Best Zoo and America’s Top Free Attraction, and it’s right here in our back yard! The Saint Louis Zoo attracts 3 million visitors each year. More than 16,000 animals from all over the world, many of which are rare or endangered, can be found in the zoo. Through the years, the St. Louis Zoo has been a leader in establishing education and wildlife management initiatives and research. There’s so much to explore, and you don’t even need a passport!
  7. Grant’s Farm. In 1855, Ulysses S. Grant built “Hardscrabble,” a four-room, two-story cabin in St. Louis. In 1907, August Busch Sr. purchased it and made the surrounding land his local ancestral home, building the Bauernhof, which includes stables, a carriage house, offices, and quarters, as a nod to beautiful 19th century Bavarian farms. The 281-acre Grant’s Farm houses over 900 animals and now includes a carousel, camel rides, shows, and more. Sunshine and spring blooms only make it that much more fabulous!
  8. Tour Missouri Wine Country. Did you know that Missouri vineyards once saved the French wine industry? Find out how by touring some of the state’s most well-known wineries, most of which were started by Germans escaping from difficult conditions and human rights abuses in late 19th century Germany. America’s first wine region took root just west of St. Louis in the mid-19th century. Immigrants from Germany’s Rhine River valley planted vineyards, built cellars and created a wine culture that flourishes today. Sip and take in the scenery from Augusta to Hermann to Defiance. Wine country in Missouri is like no other!
  9. Forest Park. Smack in the middle of the city is 1,371 acres of prairie, wetlands, streams and meadows. Forest Park is also home to the St. Louis Zoo, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, and the St. Louis Science Center, making it the perfect spot to visit rain or shine! Opened in 1876, the park has been undergoing a $100 million facelift for most of the last two decades. Stroll or bike 6.5-miles of trails, or rent a paddleboard at the Boathouse, which is also a restaurant now newly operated by Sugarfire owner Mike Johnson.
  10. Get Artsy. From the urban oasis of Citygarden to Laumeier Sculpture Park, where over 70 outdoor sculptures adorn the meandering paths, public art is alive and well in St. Louis.
