Khris S. from Chesterfield, Missouri got tired of dry eyes and the hassle of his contact lenses. When his optometrist recommended that he visit Brinton Vision in St. Louis to try a new laser eye surgery procedure called Inlay, he went for it and became one of the first Inlay surgery patients in Missouri. He shares his fears, his experience, and his results.

Usually, the dryness that I would get in my eyes from wearing contacts — I mean, I couldn’t wait to get home at the end of the day and just get those out, and it usually bothered me for the most of the day. Just the routine itself of actually putting those contacts in and out every day …. Of course, if I was ever going to swim or sleep, you’re always taking those contacts out, shower, all that stuff so it was just … it’s kind of a little bit of a hassle so that’s really one of the big things that prompted me to want to get rid of contacts.

Dr. Matt Wickham, who’s in the business as well, referred me to Dr. Brinton and said that I’d be a good candidate for this new trial surgery that was coming up. I was definitely interested in the opportunity to do something without having to wear contacts anymore. It’s a great place. The office is great and the staff is extremely courteous, so that’s always been a great thing for me here. It was a beautiful place, so I’ve had a lot of great experiences here. The equipment, the technology that they have here seems to be above anywhere else I’ve ever seen. It seems like things have improved dramatically, so for me being able to … I’m in the wireless business so I’m on my phone, that is my communications device day in and day out. So for me to be able to use that device without contacts or throwing readers on, has been a big benefit and over the last 60 days, that’s really been improved.

“The surgery is going to hurt,” or, “It’s scary,” … I would say having gone through it, it really wasn’t. It was nothing. It was almost like a quick short surgery that I barely felt.

Dr. Brinton, I would say thanks for actually being really good about answering all of the questions that I’ve had along the way. He’s been great for taking the time to make sure that everything that I had was answered clearly and so that part’s been great. I really appreciate the fact that he takes the time to … he actually even called me a couple times on my cell phone from his cell phone just to check in and see how things were going so, I really appreciated that.
