SBK Patient Tony H. shares his life-changing experience with LASIK. Tony is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and went from requiring his glasses from the very moment he woke up to being able to see the leaves on the trees outside of Brinton Vision’s office as soon as his procedure was over.
Hi, my name is Tony. I’m from St. Louis, Missouri, and I had SBK surgery here in St. Louis, at Brinton Vision. So for me, the burden of wearing glasses and contacts really came down to, you know, waking up in the middle of the night, having to throw something on to be able to see, or even do any kind of active lifestyle, those kinds of things. Like, swimming, for example, I wouldn’t be able to swim. I wouldn’t be able to go out and have fun with friends, so kind of hard to do.
Walking into Brinton Vision, my first thought was, “Wow, this is a really amazing and beautiful place.” The staff here were really kind and helpful, and I thought they really had my best interests in mind. So I never really thought about vision-correction until coming here, at Brinton Vision. And then, I felt really comfortable here, I wanted to kind of see what options are, and this was a really good place to kind of see what’s available.
My surgery experience was flawless. I felt very comfortable inside the surgery suite. They talked me through the entire process, so I never felt like I was in the dark, and it was painless. I didn’t feel a thing at all.
So the first thing I remember after surgery and thinking, “Wow, I can be able to see now,” was actually right after surgery, and looking outside the window and seeing the leaves on the tree, I was like, “Wow, I can actually see those leaves now.” Before, they were just a green blur.
My vision now is amazing. I cannot be more happy with my vision than what it is right now, honestly. I can see basically anything, I don’t have to worry about glasses or contacts, it’s been a life-changing experience.
