By the time Lesli B. from Clayton, Missouri decided to get SBK, she’d been struggling with her vision for years. She says she only wanted “the best of the best” to do her surgery, so she came to Brinton Vision in St. Louis. The day after her surgery, she was able to go to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game and watch the action — without glasses or contacts. See her story here.

I work out — I like to work out a lot. Whenever I would have issues with my contacts, I would have to wear my glasses. Wearing glasses at the gym was just always such a pain. Actually yesterday I could go to the gym for the first time since I had my LASIK procedure, and it was so freeing. I felt so good. I didn’t have any …

I had been thinking about LASIK for a really, really long time, years in fact. I was told that I had to hit a certain age, make sure my eyes leveled out before I could actually have the procedure.

I was flying back from San Francisco looking at one of those magazines that you find in the Southwest airlines seat, and found Dr. Brinton’s name in there as one of the best doctors in the U.S. for refractive surgery. That happened on Sunday. I called the office on Monday. Immediately, I was really shocked that I could have an appointment on Thursday. The surgery was on Saturday.

I was so happy that I found a great doctor in Dr. Brinton. He sat down for 45 minutes with me and explained the procedure so I felt really comfortable having the surgery actually done the day after I met with him. It was just a wonderful experience.

I chose Dr. Brinton because I know that he is one of the best refractive doctors in the U.S. I just felt really comfortable. It was all state-of-the-art equipment. The eyes are one thing that I wanted to make sure that I had the best of the best. I definitely got that here at Brinton Vision.

I can’t sing their praises enough. Actually I’ve already recruited some of my coworkers who have talked about getting LASIK, to come here and talk to the staff. The moment I called everybody was — to make my initial appointment, everybody was really helpful. Dr. Brinton was … I don’t think I’ve ever had a doctor sit down with me for 45 minutes and explain the procedure and all of the tests and exactly what I was looking at. [I was] very, very pleased, very comfortable with Dr. Brinton and the rest of his staff. I could not have asked for better service and a better outcome.

OK, so I had the vision correction surgery on Saturday. I actually was able to go to the Cardinals game on Sunday, which was very, very exciting, to be able to see the game without any sort of glasses or contacts. My vision is great. I have 20/16 vision. Anybody who works with me knows that because they probably have heard about it every single day, “Oh my gosh, I can finally see without glasses or contacts!”

Just the thought a laser and my eyes and what if something was to go wrong … I think that I waited — honestly, I waited way too long. For anybody who is contemplating that procedure, the one thing that really surprised me was just how quick and painless it was. The first four hours after the procedure, were the roughest, and they weren’t even that bad. I took a long nap. I kept putting the drops in my eye and will continue along with that. I’ve been really, really happy with my decision. I hope that they would pursue the procedure as well if they’re a candidate.

I think I might actually tear up because this procedure was just so life-changing for me. I can’t think them enough. Thank you guys so, so much.
